"Nothing for us, without us"

Community Living Algoma has seen a drastic change in the way that they provide care for people who receive their services over the past decade. Their new approach centralizes the person as the foci and care occurs with their full permission, participation and engagement. Whilst anecdotally this new approach is extremely effective there is little evidence that this is the case. Therefore, this study aims to provide a baseline study describing both how care used to be provided and how it is now experienced by staff, the recipients of services and families.
